I bought SSD Savage 240GB HyperX and replaced HDD with SSD, I also bought caddy and placed HDD Hitachi 250Gb HTS545025B9SA02 into caddy, how was described in manual for my MacBook Mid 2010 7.1 MC374xx/A. I rebooted computer from HDD and it was successful. Sierra started quite fast. Then I formatted SSD Then I run “Install Sierra” file and it installation never finished after 12 hours. After some investigation it seems HDD/SSD general speed is very slow. Just to copy 5Gb file cost 2 days. Installing Sierra from USB the same issue. Questions: Can I do something to fix it or should I give up on caddy and SSD?

Contacted Kingston and my model of SSD not compatible with my MacBook.

Honestly with this issue, I would install sierra on the SSD using a different mac. Then I would pull the regular HD and set the default boot to the SSD. During Formatting the SSD, you need to make sure everything is formatted under Mac OS X Extended (Journaled), or you are definitely going to have issues. I am assuming you are using OS X Disk Utility to format. Make sure to fully erase before reformatting.
