My foot pedal will not work. I press it the machine will sew one stitch then stop.
Are you sure it’s the pedal? Remove the sewing needle and try pressing the pedal, does it work now? If so it’s not the pedal. If it doesn’t then you will have to replace the pedal. If it’s not the pedal, make sure there are no tangled threads wrapped around the spool holder. On some thread spools, the starting thread is caught in a nick at the top of the spool. This can actually catch the thread sometimes thus stopping the machine. ( I have had this happen on cheaper thread spools) Very annoying. Replace the spool of course. Make sure you have in the correct needle for the project too. Clean out any tangled thread or fluff under the feed dogs. And remember to always thread your needle with the foot UP!
