I have recently updated my iPhone to iOS 11.4, and was excited to see my battery life because I’ve been meaning to get it replaced. I wanted to see my percent out of 100, however I cannot. Every time I open that section, it never loads for me. When I asked my mother once to check hers, hers loaded right away. To see if it needed more time, just last night I left it on overnight, and nothing ever loaded. How do I fix this?
First, for the sake of it, go to this page on the Apple website and input your serial number. You may be eligible for a free battery replacement. As for your battery health, try to put the iPhone in restore mode. Leave for 5-10 minutes, then force restart it and see if it identifies the battery.
- To put it in restore mode: turn it off, press and hold the home button (for the 6S or older models; newer models require a different approach); while holding the home button, plug the iPhone in your computer. The iPhone will restart and show a cable on the screen.
- To exit restore mode / force restart your iPhone (6S and older): press and hold power button + home button until the iPhone turns off then back on and the apple appears on the screen. Then release the buttons and wait for it to finish starting up. A word of advice: pull a back up before doing this procedure in case something is messed up and you brick the software. You could always restore it, but your data will be lost if you don’t have a recent back-up. Let us know if this helps.
