I have a whirlpool gold series dishwasher and it operates only on the heavy cycle setting. The panel on top and all the buttons are functioning however if I select normal, Eco, 1-he, or any other setting and press start the washer reverts to the heavy setting. Not an emergency just annoying. Otherwise no issues
This washer has a two speed motor. Check continuity between the orange wire at the motor and the orange wire at the timer (the one next to the orange and yellow wires). Check closely for a break in the wire near the timer connector. If it checks out ok, the timer is likely defective
