If I copy from the flatbed everything works fine. However if I copy or scan using the ADF, then a black vertical line appears down the center of the output document. I wonder if there is dust or dirt in the ADF causing the line to appear, if so where can I find instructions for opening and cleaning ADF.

This problem occurred with my Epson WP-4530 when using the ADF to scan. Epson manual says to avoid chemical when cleaning the ADF, but I could only remove the lines by using alcohol. Dry cleanig wold not work, but alcohol worked great!
It took spraying condensed air on the rollers to clear up my problem.
Tried wiping the ‘small glass panel on left’ with a dry cloth but this didn’t help. Went at it again with a cloth dampened with alcohol screen cleaner and problem solved.
