I followed the guide and replaced the front display assembly but certain areas of the touch screen are not working, mainly the upper left area of the screen. I lost a 1 screw for the logic board, would this be the reason or could I have damaged it? Thanks in advance
Hi seanpbh, here are a few possibilities and the way to trouble shoot them: A- You could have improperly connected the screen connectors: disconnect them then reseat them properly; B- You could have damaged the touch-screen connector on the board: when you disconnect the screen cables from the board to reseat them, examine the connectors and around them, look for anything damaged, torn, missing. Take a specially hard look at the connectors on the board to see if a prong is broken/bent etc. C- There is a big possibility that the replacement screen that you used is defective to begin with; D- There is also a chance that you pulled on the screen cables during reassembly, damaging them and causing this issue. To test for C and D, you should try a new known good screen or install your phone’s board in another known new iPhone housing that has a known good screen. A missing screw in the iPhone 4S will not cause your screen to be part unresponsive, so don’t worry about that.
