OK, so I took the xbox apart, and aside from the only thing the sync button interacts with is a triangle thing, ment to hold the top and the bottom on (I suppose). Why does this work, there is NO connection to the motherboard from the triangle piece, and there are no wires or internal button the allows the external switch to work… yet it just works… how, and why? Thank you in advance…
Hey, John. Take your Xbox apart again and look on the back of the front face. That ribbon cable you have to detach to remove the top (with the little blue plastic “frame” around it) actually runs to the power button, the eject button, and the sync button. Look along the inside of the front face plate and you’ll see the blue flex cable go all the way to the back of the sync button.
