why does the input selection screen keep flashing up on my tv
Hi, Try removing the batteries from the TV’s remote control unit to see if it is a sticking or faulty input button on the remote control causing the message to appear. Are you using another remote control in the room to control something else, like a DVD player or DVR etc. when this happens? If so, check to see if this may the cause of the message appearing. It may also be that you have a faulty input selection button on the TV intermittently making contact, causing the message to appear. Update (11/16/2016) Hi, Are you connected to HDMI1 or HDMI2? If it is HDMI 2 try using HDMI 1 as it doesn’t have the ARC feature (Audio Return Channel) which may be causing problems with your Sky box. Obviously if you are using HDMI1 then this doesn’t matter. As you have eliminated most of the possible ‘hardware’ causes of your problem. I’m thinking that it must be software related. Looking through the User guide for your TV I have found some items of interest.
- In Setup > Display Settings > Input labels, select ‘skip’ for the inputs that you are not using and see if this makes a difference.
- In Setup > Link Settings set CEC and Power Off Link to ‘off’ , if they are not already set that way.
- In the Timer section > Auto Standby try setting it to ‘off’
Have the exact same issue on my w550, going to try remove the flex cable and see if it helps me but driving me also , only bodge way is to duct tape the source button for now
Video control IC may be over heating, I was reading about it, and you can try to adjust brightness and contrast lower, or add heatsink to that IC. I have not tried it yet, I have same issue with Panasonic, menu popping on screen and output is changing. I disabled all other inputs except HDMI 2, hopefully it helps…
