why does the new screen not come with a home button
You have to move the old home button from the broken glass to the new one. If you lost it you can get a spare home button on Ebay. Read my post on parts to move on from the broken screen. What parts to move from the broken screen? Hope that helps. I fixed a lot of Touch 4g and have not been able to find any screen/lcd with the home button or the metal bracket. ~asle
We your home button is separate from the screen. If you plan on changing your screen you do not have to change the home button. Are you haveing problems with your home button?
