Line moves up, but goes all the way, stays all the way to the right, then after hours it will shut off. Any ideas?

Your hard drive or filesystem has probably gone bad. Try making an OS X installer on a flash drive, and use disk utility to check and repair the disk. Chances are you will probably have to replace your hard drive, or at least reinstall your OS.
