My xbox just recenly would not read any video game cd or dvd. I turned it on, put my game in and it says unreadable disc so i thought well it might just be that game. i put in another game and nothing. i put in other games and the same thing happens. it keeps on saying unreadaable disc and an error code. i need help!
jose, I would start of with a DVD lens cleaner and see if that makes a difference. If that does not work, you can try and replace the laser assembly or the optical drive.
hitpatel is correct. The majority of the time it is a bad laser. I never even attempt a disc cleaner. Change out the laser. If that doesn’t work, the board in the DVD drive is probably bad, at which time, you need a new console.
