Okay, so I got these Skullcandy Uproar Wireless headphones in August, it’s now December and they aren’t working right. They pair with my phone and charge correctly. They turn on and connect smoothly but when I go to play music, they will start to play but then there will be no sound and the song will continue to play as if they are still connected. Sometimes there will be a glitching sound or white noise before the audio stops. They stay paired and on, like normal but no sound. I checked to see if they were connected to media and phone and they are, but I can’t figure out the problem. Even turning the volume up and down it says it’s connected. They seem to work great, just no audio and the crackling noise. I don’t pair any other devices to my phone so it’s not Bluetooth signal. Even after I turn them back on they will work at first but then stop. I can’t even get through one song and it’s annoying.
Hi @adrianakb19 , Try pairing the headphones with another phone or tablet etc and check whether it performs OK using BT. If it still doesn’t work properly, since you have only had them since August and as the manufacturer offers a limited 2 year warranty on the headphones, I suggest that you consult the warranty statement that came with the headphones as to what you have to do to make a claim for a warranty repair, replacement or warranty credit with the Skullcandy online store. If you cannot find the warranty statement, here is a link
I found another way that you can make the audio work for those of you that are outside the warranty if you hold the power button and the volume up button for 10 seconds the headphones should turn off the headphones should turn off then after that restart your phone and connect your headphones and it should be working again I don’t know why this happened but I tried to connect another pair of headphones and it didn’t work that’s how I figure this out so some of the times it might just be your phone ( also just a side note i’ll had a problem in the past with my bass turning off if you do the trick I mentioned before with the power button and the volume button and that will fix your bass as well)
I have the Skullcandy Crusher BT headphones. I occasionally get a problem where my headphones will connect, but won’t play any sound from any audio device. I will try to clear up how to fix this problem.
- Go to your bluetooth settings on your phone, tablet, or portable device. “Forget” the Skullcandy headphones so that it no longer recognizes the headphones. (Android) Settings - Bluetooth and Device Connections - Bluetooth - click on the gear next to the headphones (or press and hold headphone name) - click “forget” (iPhone) Settings - Bluetooth - Press the blue “i” next to the headphones name - Forget this device
- Restart your portable device (phone, tablet, laptop, etc.)
- As your portable device is rebooting, on your headphones, press and hold the volume up and volume down buttons for 10 seconds. You may or may not hear two beeps. Let go of the volume up and volume down buttons after 10 seconds.
- Immediately press and hold the power button on the headphones until it says “pairing” or flashes blue and red.
- Go to settings on your portable device and reconnect the headphones as if it was a new pair of headphones. This has always worked for me on all of my Skullcandy products, including a loss of bass. As Android and Apple continue updating their Bluetooth, sometimes the packets get mixed up between the device and your headphones, so you have to reset both essentially so that your device recognizes the headphones again and can begin sending the data to your headphones in the compatible Bluetooth signal. Hope this helps!
