LG 42LC7D TV On my tv when I am watching a movie or show the screen goes blank for about 5 sec and then comes back on and then does it again in a few seconds.. seems to do it after it warms up awhile. It seems like its only doing it with the HDMI ports

‘’’++dewser++’’’  try a different HDMI cable and try to use a different port. If this continues to happen you may have issues with your main board.

I just repaired my LG 42LC7D Tv myself that was doing the same, and also the remote was intermittent and getting to be a bit frustrating. I removed the back from the TV and noticed almost immediately what I thought might be the problem.. On the main circuit board, there were a number of leaking capacitors as shown in the attacked pic. these were 2200uf 10v and one 1500uf 35v. They are all 105deg operating temp. I was able to order these from Digi-key, and when I received them, I removed the board and replaced the leaking capacitors. Once this was done and everything was put back to normal, the tv now works the same as it did the day I bought it. ;) If a person is proficient with a soldering iron, they could easily do this repair. The main thing to keep in mind is to make sure that the stripe (positive) on the capacitor is correctly positioned. Below is the Digikey info..
