I replaced the A1322 battery in my 13" Macbook Pro (mid 2009) and the battery icon has a black “X” in it. It will not charge and the computer says “no batteries available.” I reinstalled the old battery and it worked fine. What should I do to get the new battery to work?
Apple procedure on fixing this are a bit unclear, instead please follow these directions in their exact order: http://blog.laptopbatterylife.com/2011/0…
If you are attempting to contact iFixit customer service you’re in the wrong place (use the link at the bottom of the page). This is the volunteer DIY help forum, we are not employed or affiliated with iFixit in any way. Double check that connector/connection/cable at both ends. Many times beginner DIYers “think” or “believe’ they have correctly reassembled their machines only to find on second look that connectors they “knew” were good were not. Ensure the connector is square and fully snapped into the logic board. Have to talked to your vendor? Brand new batteries (especially the cheap Chinese knockoffs) have been known to fail straight out of the box. Also some newer models of MacBooks will not boot without a 15% charge on the battery. If this answer is acceptable please remember to return and mark it.
