I have a question why does my pioneer avh-x6700dvd turns on plays for like 3minutes then turns off and turns on again I check for cables touching, ground wire, fuses and nothing I think it might b the radio is their anything I could do or anywhere I could take it to get it fix
Hi, Does it happen when the car is stationary? Does it happen with the engine off? Do you have any problems with other circuits in the car that are fed off the accessories power e.g. cigarette lighter, power windows etc? If it only happens to the radio with the engine on and more when you are driving it sounds like there is a loose connection or dry soldered joint in the power supply for the radio or in the radio. You might have to connect a test lamp or DMM (digital Multimeter -Voltmeter function) to the power feed where it goes into the radio itself (or as close to the radio as you can get) to prove whether the problem is with the power into the radio or it is in the radio itself, i.e. either the power is on all the time at the radio power input point or it comes and goes. If it is with the feed to the radio you need to check the wiring path from the radio fuse in the fuse block right through to the radio itself. It may be for instance a loose connection at the rear of the fuse in the fuse block. What type of fuse is installed? If it is a knife blade type check that the female connection point in the fuse block looks OK and that it has enough tension on the fuse. If it is a glass type fuse, again is it tight in the fuse holder, have you tried a different fuse of the same rating?
Try bypassing the pioneer fuse/resistors in the pioneer wiring harness and then if it fixes your problem replacing it with a new harness from ebay,it fixed my problem
Hi @anhhung408, If you’re using the Pinoeer ND BC8 rear view camera have you checked the settings as shown in the user guide -p.35-36? Here’s an image of the relevant section.

Decibel settings are to high, and balance in left mid l, left mid and right also in right speaker does “Radio check it self if to much power is going to the radio”, nothing wrong if cables are correctly connected. But to high amplified sound settings can make the radio to go off because to much power is taking out of the battery. If you set all 5 channels 100 decibels and 110 dB and 10 for the speakers, radio settings can make the radio go off in till you disconnect the music source and set the settings correctly.
ive been told its something todo with a memory ic chip inside and a resister problem that’s all I know someone on ebay knows the problem and he said he can fix it cheap I wish I knew what the problem really is so I could repair it myself
I have this same issue.. its in a vauxhall/opel/GM depending where your reading this. Originally it would flicker off for a second and lose all settings so was an issue with permanent live.. i needed to change the permanent and switched live over (Vauxhall idiosyncrasies) after doing this the same fault would happen but would not lose settings, so perm live is now steady.. i then added a tap wire to from perm to the switched live feed in order to give a steady 12v supply. As soon as i make the connection, cabin fans start up and stop upon disconnect.. same happens with the head unit so all working as planned.. however whilst driving the radio still loses switches live even though it has a permanent live tap running to it… really driving me mad now. Think the only option left is to get a new head unit and see if that cures it
I have a problem with my sph-da120. It get stuck on splash screen. Then turn off and it’s trying again. All the time. I checked everything except the memory card inside. Also the cooling fan looks like it doesn’t work at all. Or it is not turning on because the unit is struggling. Any help please ?
The problem is. We all have the same issue. Different car different pioneer head unit. My old one which I had switched out did the same. When driving the head unit turned off. My personal experience was if I hit a bump it turned off or on. After a month or so of this it stop working completely. So I replaced with an updated one. Not even two days it did the same however I notice for myself I was playing music with the volume up. It’s been a week and it been on 11 or 12 volume. No problems yet. Btw, I put heat shrink tube on all the wires thinking this can eliminate the problem. I checked the fuses as well. Any help would really help. Thank you in advance,
I still deal with this same issue. At first I though it was heat related, however, it did this last winter on a 5 hour road trip. I have the Mistro unit per Crutchfield’s recommendation. It’s programmed and all functions work as advertised. My wife has the same head unit with no interrupted power issues. Hers only has an adapter kit for aftermarket to factory cables, no programmable unit between. Mistro may be the issue at this point.
Hello my Pioneer SPH-DA160DAB radio turns on then when the car starts turns off and won’t turn back on, like no power is going to the radio at all ? All lights go off on the radio, takes around 5 mins to reset for it to come on again with the engine back off, only does this in the morning when the car is cold, never done it in the summer time .
Pioneer DMH-C5500NEX does it sometimes using maestro rr 1
