Suddenly, My Macbook pro some keys stopped responding. (Q, W, E, R, T, Y, U, I and O” The other keys and trackpad are working fine. I am in trouble because I do not know the cause at all. Would you please tell us your views? Keyboard is JIS type. And OS is High Sierra.
@kyonkyon - The keyboard is setup in a modified grid lines (X-Y), the Q, W, E, R, T, Y, U, I & O keys all share the same row signal, so either one of the keys is stuck down or something conductive is shorting across, the line’s connection to the logic board has failed. Lastly, you could have just worn-out the keyboard from use. Did you have a liquid spill at some point? Use a spray cleaner to clean the keyboard spraying it directly? The last possibility is very possible in Japan humidity! Going from AC buildings to humid air outside can cause humidity to condense onto the cooler case and parts. Having a JIS layout keyboard (Japanese) complicates things. IF you are in Japan you should be able to find a local independent Mac repair shop who can replace your keyboard with another JIS keyboard (ask if they have one in stock for your system). If you are here in the states your options are limited! I don’t remember if the Apple JIS layout is using the US case or using the ISO case. Compare the return/enter key layout from the image is it the same as yours MacBook Pro Unibody (A1278) Keyboard (this is a US layout keyboard) Apple P/N 661-5856 or the full uppercase assembly Apple P/N 661-6595. Apple then adds a country code as a prefix to the P/N as an example: J661-5856 for the Japanese version. To get to to the keyboard is a bit of work! Follow this guide MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2012 Upper Case Replacement once you have the uppercase fully out you can then carefully lift off the backlight sheet to gain access to the 80+ tiny screws which hold the keyboard in. 私はあなたに幸運と大きな幸せを願っています
