Hello! I starting having a problem with my Mac a few months ago. My Mac display falls asleep on its own (the sleep light flashes when this happens) and will not respond to keystrokes or even when I press the power button. It started falling asleep and waking up randomly every once in a while but over time it has begun falling asleep every few minutes to every few seconds and will eventually reach a point where it won’t respond or wake up for hours(sleep light flashes the entire time). I brought the computer to the Genius Bar for help, but they don’t know what the problem is and I can’t even finish backing up my information to send it out! Is there anyone who can help me out there?

Try SMC and NVRAM reset. If it is not this, will be related to a faulty hall effect sensor/signal to sensor, on the logic board. Open and check for liquid damage. If any is present, take a picture of where it is, before cleaning with 95%+ isopropyl. I suspect liquid will be causing this intermittent issue. Make sure magnets definitely aren’t near your Macbook, causing it to sleep. Would recommend taking this to a 3rd party repair centre who can diagnose and repair the logic board, if this does not resolve your issue.
