. So what initially happened was that the hard drive started to slow down tremendously. And a error message popped up stating that the hard drive was defective. I simply popped it out and inserted a new one. But now my laptop wont read any hard drive I have inserted into it.

JackMedina, if your drive is recognized by your computers BIOS, try to boot your computer from a bootable USB or optical disk. It is possible that your replacement hard drive does not have an operating system installed. You should try and install an OS on your hard drive. If your BIOS does not see the drive, make sure that it is properly seated and that there are no bend or broken contacts. You may have a failed drive or problems with the SATA connector on your motherboard (less likely)
