Chosen Solution

I cleaned my macbook pro keyboard, and suddenly. Whenever I want to type something. stuff like iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiidddddddddodoooooooo appears. I cannot even boot it up in security mode using cmd + r. I tried hitting it gently, and now it does not work at all! Please help.

First of all, HOW did you clean it? If you washed it (yes, you can do this - it’s not recommended, but it can be done), you won’t have a working keyboard for a few days, as it has to dry COMPLETELY before using. The best bet, if it was wetted to clean, is to remove it from the laptop, turn it key-side down (or lean it against a wall to allow any moisture to run out) and attack it with a fan - a good trick for this is to sit the keyboard between two chairs and have the fan blow up at it. In the meantime, you can always use an external keyboard with the laptop as a temporary solution (yes it will work without the normal keyboard in there). Cheapie keyboards are available for about $5 at Five BELOW stores (if you have any of those). Regards, Lewis

Its a bit of work but its not to bad cost wise! Here’s the needed part: MacBook Pro 13" Unibody (Early 2011-Mid 2012) Upper Case and here’s the guide you’ll need to follow to replace the uppercase which will also replace your keyboard MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2012 Upper Case Replacement
