Chosen Solution I knocked a glass of water accidentally off of my desk above my Xbox. It wasn’t very much but it basically poured right into the fan. I left it to dry for about 8 hours and now it will turn on for a max of 30 second then power off. What should I do? Is there any fix for this? Try leaving it to dry even longer. I would recommend taking it apart and setting the motherboard at an angle in a dry place....
Chosen Solution I have installed a Kingston SSD following the guide on this website, I have formatted it from the systems HD OS X boot partition as GUID Extended. I would now like to install OS-X El Capitan on it. The drive is visible when the computer is turned ON from OFF in disk utility/desktop, but if the computer is restarted, the drive is not visible. So its impossible to make it an OS X Boot drive and I’m not sure I want to anyway with it behaving so strangely....
Chosen Solution Is it still possible to upgrade the RAM myself (without taking apart the Mac)? 27" Mid-2017 iMac? Or have they switched to the same design as the new Mac mini. From what I can see on the photos the RAM is still accessible via the back door. Anyone able to confirm this? Hi all. Chosen Solution Hi Folks My iMac suddenly drop to half performance and i can’t spot the reason why. I have lately installed SSD(evo850) drive in my iMacLate09 (i7) and the performance was very good for long time 2000+ geekbench. Then all of a sudden the performance is half. I have trim enabled from the start, half the SSD drive is free 168gb free out of total 250gb. My system is a copy of my iMac11 and i see no performance drop on iMac11 that i spend 10times more time on that the iMac09....

Hey Jimmy, It sounds like you may have either a pinched cable, a broken cable, or a faulty display. I hope, for your sake, that it is only the cable that is pinched or disconnected. Chosen Solution I replaced the battery, and now the display looks like it is either in direct sunlight or “whitewashed” to try and describe it. Thoughts? Well, I removed and reconnected everything - no more display problem. If anyone knows which connector was the culprit from past experience I’d still be glad to know.
Chosen Solution My headset only works on the right side. But it works on the left side when I push the cord up where it connects to the jack. I would be grateful for any help. It sound like the cable is broken. Have you tried it in another device to make sure it’s not the audio port? You can attempt to fix it by replacing the cable, which will likely involve taking the headset apart, finding where they cable connects to a circuit board, de-soldering and re-soldering a new cable....
Chosen Solution I had my upper case replaced, and now my internal MIC isn’t working. I’ve tried looking for internal wiring, but I can’t seem to find anything. Any ideas? I would talk with your service tech or vendor who performed the repair. The microphones are in the upper case on the left side (facing the keyboard normally) near the speakers and should be functional. If you paid for the repair with a credit card let them know you have a dispute with the vendor (better than hiring a lawyer and going to small claims court-the credit card company can pressure the vendor to do it right....
Chosen Solution Issue began about a week ago (around the same time as newest PS4 update). I can put the disc in and it will start to spin but then it will start clicking. The clicking sounds as if it is trying to start spinning. It will continue this until it stops completely. Powering the unit off will sometimes correct the issue. I have already tried to turn on in safe mode and reinstall the most recent update....

Chosen Solution First don’t completely finish screwing it down unless/until its working. You don’t mention why the unit died a few years ago… that problem might be what’s wrong. That the keyboard & trackpad don’t work suggests a liquid spill… that plus time is not a good combination. IF disk utility finds/verifies the drive it’s not part of the problem. Explain that the disk tested with DU but won’t show up on your install, unless you’re trying to install an intel OS on the PPC....

Chosen Solution I have replaced the logic board in this machine when the original logic board failed, the system installed was Yosemite. Now the machine auto reboots before completing the boot process. I realize that this forum isn’t about software, but I should be able to find out if it is and issue with PRAM/openFirmWare as support for this type of issue. There is no info on what the problem is, just a dialog that comes up after a brief dark screen and then a light blank screen....
Chosen Solution My iPhone4 will not charge with the device powered on anymore now……I have to plug it to the charger where it won’t charge at all then……..power it off……wait about an hour or two…….take it of the charger…..power it back on and it’s fully charged….Why is this? Either there is debris inside the charger port that needs to be cleaned, or the charger port pins are damaged. If the charger port pins are damaged then you will need to replace the charging port assembly....

Chosen Solution I just ran into this problem this morning. My printer used to be able to grab paper of all different thicknesses and run them through. However, now it will only grab very thin paper. When I send something to the printer, I can hear the rollers spin and the paper wiggles just a tiny bit (indicating, to me, that there is some contact between the rollers and the paper)....
Chosen Solution Yesterday I went to listen to my iPod and as soon as I selected as song it made a little high pitched “pew” noise and then went to the black and grey start up screen you see where the apple logo is grey before it turns white. As it was doing that the screen went all stringy and faded out, then it started up again and did the same until I locked it....
Chosen Solution My razr recently took a very brief swim in some water. It was submerged on the order of ~2-3 sec. I let it dry for a 56+ hours in some rice. When i tried to turn it on, no response. I plug it in and it will display the Motorola icon then eventually show batter icon with zero charge. It is not a battery issue, already swapped teh battery with another one and observed the same response....
